While Decentr began its blockchain journey on Ethereum mainnet more than five years ago, the current Cosmos L1 was designed with the Internet of Blockchains in mind. With the proliferation of over 100 Cosmos SDK-based networks, the IBC has begun to make progress towards realigning goals between protocols and their users.
Key aspects of this new alignment include:
- New managers of the Cosmos Hub seeking to be more collaborative than previous stewards
- Decentr streamlining itself into a mobile application development shop for IBC and EVMs
We have arrived at this conclusion with tokenholders in mind: the DEC token has a central role to play in the new DecentrNet
Since the genesis block of the Decentr Layer-1 blockchain, certain advancements have been made that have alleviated the demand for more blockchains, and more demand for specialized, consumer applications that serve the needs of retail users, who are the key target of Decentr’s designs. This transformation is set to propel Decentr into new markets, with a renewed focus on delivering real world solutions in a familiar, visual presentation.
The main goals of this transition are:

A New Home to Trade DEC: Nibiru
At the heart of Decentr’s roadmap will be the migration of its native DEC token, from the native L1 Cosmos blockchain, to Nibiru, which is positioning itself as the go-to blockchain for EVM- and Cosmos-focused DeFi Protocols. Decentr’s focus shift to Nibiru is about more than just repositioning Decentr within the Cosmos ecosystem: It is putting Decentr in a supportive, constructive environment where Decentr can deliver consumer mobile applications to capture new users.
We expect this migration to bring several benefits, including reconfiguring sustainable DEC token markets, aligning more closely with existing ecosystem partners, and positioning ourselves better for DeFi Protocol utilization in Cosmos. The imminent launch of the Nibiru EVM execution layer will provide Decentr with a clearer pathway towards offering DeFi liquidity strategies on Base and other EVM networks that the Decentr Community has expressed interest in.
This move is designed to ensure a seamless experience for existing holders, with the DEC token remaining intact and retaining its IBC compatibility, while gaining access to many new, beneficial trading and swap opportunities with Nibiru partner networks.
We will migrate the existing xDEC liquidity from Astrovault on Archway to Astrovault on Nibiru in Q1 2025, and then migrate the remaining DEC liquidity once a viable IBC Relayer comes online in Q1 2025. Additionally, we will eventually migrate some of the DEC liquidity from Osmosis to Base, where incentives will be redirected on the Ethereum side to deepen a new, consolidated liquidity pool on Base.
Another key aspect of Decentr’s roadmap is to increase focus on DeFi protocol utility for the DEC token. Within the Cosmos ecosystem, xDEC represents the sole Liquid Staking Derivative (LSD) token for Decentr.
To incentivize participation and drive growth, the team will be introducing enhanced incentives for xDEC liquidity providers, including:
- Discounted-Price Decentr SaaS Subscription NFTs
- Value-add connected services (LLM, Gen-AI, etc)
Seeking Funding for Mobile Applications and Social Connectivity
