2022 $DEC Token Release Schedule: Increased Locks and Vestings Across the Board!
In 2021 we introduced a raft of changes to our tokenomics, designed to reduce inflation of the $DEC token and bolster community confidence in the Decentr team’s long term vision and support of our project.

The TLDR of these changes were -
- Team tokens were to be locked for a further 6 months with the vesting period for these tokens doubled from 10 months to 20 months
- Partners and Advisors tokens were to be locked for an additional 6 months with the vesting period for these tokens doubled from 10 months to 20 months.
- Foundation tokens were to be locked for an additional 6 months, with the vesting period for these tokens extended from 3 years to 18 years.
Based on community suggestions and to further bolster community confidence in the long term belief and vision the Decentr team has in our project, we have further extended locks on both the Team and Partners and Advisors token tranches.
No tokens will be released from these tranches for the first half of 2022, and after this time, will be unlocked at ~50% of the previous unlock schedule.
Foundation tokens will be released on the same release schedule, and these will be the only tokens released over the first 6 months of 2022.
This means only 9m additional $DEC will enter the circulating supply from Jan — June 2022.
Inflation has been reduced for 2022, from a previous end of year circulating supply of 238m, to 145m, a reduction of 93m tokens (with these coming from Team and Partner and Advisors tokens).
Unlocked Foundation tokens will be used for these specific purposes -
- Additional Browse to Earn Rewards
As our user base grows, we will increase the Browse to Earn reward pool to reflect this growth.
- Decentr Referral Rewards
Again, as our user base grows, as will the number of referrals and referred users.
- LP Rewards on Osmosis
Once $DEC is listed on Osmosis, we will create a significant LP rewards program to incentivise community supplied liquidity on Osmosis.
- Airdrops to the Cosmos Ecosystem
As a new entrant to the Cosmos ecosystem, we will be airdropping $DEC tokens over a series of airdrops to Comos ecosystem projects, initially $ATOM and $OSMO stakers, with additional projects in later airdrops.
It is important to note that despite launching our project in June of 2020, the Decentr team has received NO tokens so far, and will receive our first tokens in July 2022, two years after launch. We REALLY believe in what we’re doing and this is the best way we can communicate this to you, our supporters and community.
With the launch of $DEC on Osmosis and our entry into the Cosmos ecosystem, along with our explosive user growth, an almost bug free, fully functioning version of our Desktop browser AND with our mobile browser getting closer and closer to full release, we have never been more excited about the future of Decentr.
Thanks to our Browse to Earn program, along with our referral program, the $DEC token has never had more utility and with our native token now on the IBC and Cosmos ecosystem, it can now be used as it has always intended to be, fast, cheap, efficient and with more volume and liquidity.
